I worked on "Prometheus" as a concept artist, and now that the movie is out I can show some of the images.

I will eventually post stuff here on DA, but I felt the format of my blog lent itself better to an overview of the process, and to acknowledge some of the others involved. So I decided to begin with that out of consideration to the talented people I feel privileged to have worked with! :)

Feel free to have a look:

There is an "Art of" book, which I just got - and it's quite nice! But it contains only a fraction of the art generated for the project by myself and the other artists on the team.

I worked with a small group here in the US that included Steven Messing, David Levy, Ben Procter, Carlos Huante, Neville Page & Daniel Simon. And there are other artists who worked over in the UK when the film went into full production. So you can imagine quite a lot of artwork was generated!

Hello - and thanks for stopping by!

I'm a commercial artist by trade, but most of what is going to appear in my gallery here will be my own personal artwork.

In part that's due to "non disclosure" agreements relating to most of my professional work. But mostly it's because I am happy to find a home for images created purely for pleasure - or as learning exercises.

For those who are curious about my professional history, the following link is a fair overview:

To me this gallery presents an opportunity for learning and trying different things. It is really a laboratory, not a portfolio - so you can expect to see some "interesting failures" in the mix :)

If you look through my "Favorites" folder, you may notice it's somewhat eclectic. I tend to respond to an image for any number of reasons - not limited to pure technical skill. I'm always receptive to an interesting idea or design for its own sake :)

I would like to say "thank you" to everyone who has a look at the gallery, and especially to those who leave comments, pick an image as a favorite, or add me to their "watch" list.

I will do my best to respond to any messages - to the best of my ability :)

Hello Steve. I fell in love with this draft of the Prometheus (… ) Sso dark, so massive, and great lighting.

Thus, i allowed myself to do a remake in 3D (… ) You can notice that i have changed a little the shape of the front which is opening (instead of the 2 iniital sub-blocks)

Hope you like it. Thanks a lot for all your fantastic illustrations .Seems you are working on Interstellar. I can't  wait :)

You certainly get those imaginations inhabitants of other dimensions and other planets with existing lives. I know you have a lot of talent in this kind of work, but if you believe in other people is certainly with the thoughts and ideas focused on this element type.

I've had some imaginations alike that when I woke up I did not want to return, are things that I do not know how to explain, but able to demonstrate in Art. But I do not have any tool to be able to express these views I have.

I really wanted to be able to draw so that neither you, Congratulations.

NOTE: (Google Translate) I'm from Brazil and unfortunately I can not speak English.

Your work is amazing, could you help me out? I've decided to pursue art but not sure where to start. I like to draw 3-D scenery and first person view. Could you help me out on where and how to start becoming better?
