My Bio
Hello - and thanks for stopping by!

I'm a commercial artist by trade, but most of what is going to appear in my gallery here will be my own personal artwork.

In part that's due to "non disclosure" agreements relating to most of my professional work. But mostly it's because I am happy to find a home for images created purely for pleasure - or as learning exercises.

For those who are curious about my professional history, the following link is a fair overview: www.imdb.com/name/nm0121123/

To me this gallery presents an opportunity for learning and trying different things. It is really a laboratory, not a portfolio - so you can expect to see some "interesting failures" in the mix :)

If you look through my "Favorites" folder, you may notice it's somewhat eclectic. I tend to respond to an image for any number of reasons - not limited to pure technical skill. I'm always receptive to an interesting idea or design for its own sake :)

I would like to say "thank you" to everyone who has a look at the gallery, and especially to those who leave comments, pick an image as a favorite, or add me to their "watch" list.

I will do my best to respond to any messages - to the best of my ability :)

I worked on "Prometheus" as a concept artist, and now that the movie is out I can show some of the images. I will eventually post stuff here on DA, but I felt the format of my blog lent itself better to an overview of the process, and to acknowledge some of the others involved. So I decided to begin with that out of consideration to the talented people I feel privileged to have worked with! :) Feel free to have a look: http://steveburg.blogspot.com/ There is an "Art of" book, which I just got - and it's quite nice! But it contains only a fraction of the art generated for the project by myself and the other artists on the team. I worked wi

I retired my old faithful avatar, the beloved creature from "Robot Monster" (1953) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046248/ For the time being, I've updated it to an "author photo" that was taken for an upcoming book :)
