Across the Ice by steve-burg Across the Ice by steve-burg
After the traditional media, here is something digital... A fairly quick image done with some 3D assets I made a little while ago.

The rovers are out exploring the icy moon of a gas giant - perhaps one in another solar system.

The terrain is a displacement texture applied to a flat square mesh.

There is a little bit of Photoshop tweaking, but for the most part the image was created in Lightwave 3D. :)

Across the Ice by *steve-burg "Just a fantastic scene. The sense of scale and the realistic looking rover, makes you feel as if you were actually out there, trying to colonize or explore a new Moon or World." The rest of his gallery has creations just as fantastic as this one. Check it out. ( Featured by Casperium )

Fa-bu-lous !! I like the perspective of this rocky place and the heavy presence of the gas giant behind.
