This is a painting of the house where I grew up, in New Jersey. The painting was a Christmas gift given to my parents not long after my dad retired and my parents moved to California. I resisted the urge to rearrange anything for the sake of composition, and painted it exactly as it looked on a typical day in October, with the fall colors.

There are many wonderful memories rolled up in this simple painting (at least for me)

I've owned my current house for 15 years, but in many ways, I will probably always think of this place - and those times - as my true home.

I'm being a bit sentimental, but what can I say? Today (as I post this) is my birthday
