Whew - my first upload in ages! It's been quite busy this year, so I've had very little time to do personal artwork.

This image started as a rough 3D model (created in Lightwave) and I more or less painted over the whole thing by the time I was finished with it.

The planet - orbiting an orphan star adrift in the intergalactic void - is named in honor of a friend and fellow artist.

I used some Hubble images as the basis for the distant galaxies:
