Staging Point by steve-burg Staging Point by steve-burg
While sorting through some old storage drives, I stumbled upon a cache of "ancient" digital art. Apparently this was done in July of 2000, going by the date!

All I can say for certain is that it is a 3D render created in Lightwave, with paint-over done in Photoshop.

While I know exactly what the scene represents, all I'll say here is that a bunch of human soldiers are exploring a large alien structure, and here we see them setting up a base camp. :)

I can't help but think of the end of Total Recall when I see this. =p

I must confess something... I actually worked on "Total Recall" (the 1990 one, not the new one) ;)

I just looked at your personal website; I had no idea you were such a veteran of the film industry. Total recall and Titan AE are two of my favourite films ever! :la: This makes you amazingly cool to me. =p

Thanks! Strange to now be a veteran - I guess it's like in all those war movies. You start out totally green, and if you don't get wiped out, eventually there you are: veteran! :D

I'm very happy to have found - here on DA - a place where I can post the "non-commercial" artwork. And also to see all the amazing stuff here - I find treasures all the time! :)

It is a pretty interesting place if one knows how to use it, and I'm sure all your watchers feel privileged to be able to see work of yours that they wouldn't ordinarily be able to see. :)
