Very neat shape study. Maybe doing these is the same kind of "art therapy" as my recent spate of Trek stuff is to me. Relaxing and satisfying. But of course you're bringing something TRULY unique to life with yours.
Even though it is huge there is smth peculiar to it that makes it seem weightless and quite noiseless, it gives me a mechanical balloon feeling, that just explores and collect data and means no harm. Then again its a machine what harm would it do? But your machines seems to have a character of their own so you really never know..
Im glad you rephrased your comment...I was ready to send Cthulhu to pay a visit...
Reminds me of a scifi art book I stole from the school library in the '80's. (shame on me) I checked it out about 5 times, and finally at the end of the school year "borrowed it" indefinately. Had a loose story thread of alien invasion and our retaliation. One page was an entire image and the next had text. It was a big ol' coffee table book had maybe 30 pages. The art was almost Frazetta-esque; but not quite. (looked like this actually)lol
I don't know - it varies. I would like to get more comfortable painting characters. That's not something I can do after a long busy day though (as far as I know. Hmmm... maybe I should try it though...)
