This is another experiment in 3D matte painting.

The scene was made by camera mapping 3 separate paintings onto low-polygon geometry. There is a painting for the environment, another for the ship, and a third for the weird pyramids in the background. Each painting was projected from a separate camera to make the final scene.

I still want to fine tune this... but I was itching to post something! :D

Found it with some youtube search ^^, really cool i am pretty curious how you did the ground, it's clearly not a 3D model with 3D rock, but it doesn't look flat, is this a displacement map on Lightwave ?
For your camera projection did you used a plug-ins ?

Very cool. And the projection on the front ship holds really well in the video, considering the range of motion of the camera move.
