FeaturedCommentsI love your works! Too often people create unique and interesting ideas, but fail to show them off. Each one of your works tells a great story. From the quickly hashed sketches to the detailed several hour jobs. I keep coming back to your pictures and each time find something new to love about them. They're the kind of things I could have on my wall and never tire of looking at. Every day i would see it in a new way and wonder what the story behind each one was. Awesome stuff.
On a more negative note: You're probably the reason all of these projects you worked on failed. There's no way the developers could match the incredible visions you give them and stay on budget and time. They probably look at your concept art and, after catching their breath, realize "shiiiit, thats awesome, we TOTALLY have to incorporate that somehow!" ...next thing you know, they're over budget and 3 months behind schedule. HAH! ;-D Anyway, I thoroughly enjoy your stuff and thinking about the world in which they exist. thanks! Thank you for your very generous compliment!
It's always a challenge to find projects that call for the kinds of things I really love to do - that's why I've always continued doing my own artwork too! And, as you point out - there's no budget to worry about! Thanks for taking the time to look at my artwork - I certainly appreciate it! Exceptional gallery. I'm intrigued by the brushes you use throughout your concept experiments.
Believe it or not, I mostly use just the standard round brushes, at least for blocking everything in.
I do make custom brushes for certain things, like repeating patterns or random textures. I tend to build up a textured appearance using a lot of layers with different blending modes between them. Sometimes I start off in black & white, although it can be a challenge to get a nice spectrum in the colors when going that route. Fantastic work! I was weened on the space art of Bonestell and the spaceships of Chris Foss and John Berkey. I've had some trouble finding art that reflects my interest in hard SF. Until I found your gallery. I think a watch is in order here.
